On stage

  • Compagnie Ziguilé

Réunion-based company of Éric Maufrois and Émilie Smith: acrobatics, dance, and live music.

The show

At the heart of a ring of paper balls, two children squabble. They lift each other, fly, and chain acrobatics with joyful, boundless energy, through carefree games of tender youth. In Réunion Creole, “ziguilé” evokes the world of childhood, distinct from the adult world: somewhere between dance and circus, this duo awakens the child inside adults without glossing over the power dynamics that shape relationships between two people.

Created and performed by Émilie Smith and Éric Maufrois (Compagnie Ziguilé). Part of the festival highlight “Hors d'âge”: Monday, April 19, 2027 at 2:30 PM and Tuesday, April 20 at 10:30 AM at the Chapiteau. All ages from 4, runtime: 55 minutes.
