More about Golf des 24h

The 24 Heures Le Mans Golf is nestled in the heart of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit, at the Mulsanne corner, at the end of the legendary Hunaudières straight. The 18-hole course (par 71, 5 742 meters) spreads over nearly 47 hectares of pine forest, on sandy soil that keeps the course playable all year and drains naturally. The greens, of traditional size and well protected by numerous bunkers, recall the spirit of golf courses in the Landes region. The holes are named after legends and landmarks of the racing circuit (Pescarolo, Ickx, Kristensen...).

The site offers a driving range, putting green, pro shop, equipment rental, and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace overlooking the course, open to everyone, golfers or not. A golf school welcomes children from age 4. The club, committed to environmental practices (responsible water management, reduced use of plant-protection products), holds the silver-level “Golf pour la biodiversité” label. Every June, the golf hosts “Les 24 Heures du Golf,” a night event played over nine illuminated holes.

A bit of history

Golf's origins go back to the 1930s: a first course already existed on the site in 1934. The nonprofit sports club that runs the golf course today was founded in 1961 as the “Golf Club du Mans,” before the course was expanded to 18 holes in 1978 (some sources place this expansion around 1962). The land belongs to the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), owner of the 24 Hours circuit; the golf club is its tenant and operator.

Sitting directly on the racing circuit's grounds, the golf course has made the most of this unique setting: sandy soil inherited from the circuit's layout, a preserved forest route, and immediate proximity to the world of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which inspired the names of the holes and the club's annual night event.
