More about La Gemerie
The Gèmerie guinguette, also called “Gèmerie Beach,” opens every season on the shore of the Gèmerie leisure park lake in Arnage, a few kilometers from Le Mans. It offers a bar and light food (crêpes, waffles, ice cream, paninis, burgers, grilled meats) facing the lake's sandy beach.
For the 2026 season, the guinguette reopened on Friday, April 3 for about six months, with new grill options (andouillettes, merguez, entrecôtes, sausages). A program of entertainment (concert nights, karaoke, dances) is planned all summer, including a highlight organized by the city of Arnage and its partners from July 6 to August 30, 2026.
A bit of history
The Gémerie guinguette sits on the lake shore of the Gémerie, a 15-hectare leisure park in Arnage, at the gates of Le Mans. Its water and outdoor activities are run by the Association de Gestion et d'Animation de la Gèmerie (AGAG). The site is a historic leisure space for the Le Mans area, offering supervised swimming in July and August and, year-round, sailing, fishing, a fitness trail and play areas.
The guinguette along the lake (wooden terrace, bar and stage for concerts and themed evenings) operates in season, from April to October and seven days a week in June, July and August, under a private operator. Paul Letereux has run it since 2024. The 2026 season, which opened on April 3, marks his third season at the helm, with a grill menu (andouillettes, merguez, entrecôtes, sausages) added to the offerings.
