More about Le Spot Indoor - Skatepark
Le Spot is one of the largest covered skateparks in France, fully operated by the City of Le Mans. Located on rue Louis-Harel-de-la-Noë, it offers 2,400 m² of indoor space, 2,100 m² of it for riding, on a surface 70 meters long by 30 meters wide. Street and bowl features accommodate skateboards, roller skates, BMX bikes and freestyle scooters.
The venue offers both open-access sessions and supervised classes, with classes from age 6 and skatepark access under adult supervision from age 8 (independent access from age 12). The spectator mezzanine is wheelchair-accessible by elevator.
Located near tram line T1 and served by Le Mans Université station, Le Spot is a neighborhood facility designed for young Manceaux who practice board and street sports.
A bit of history
Le Spot was built by the City of Le Mans between 2006 and 2007, at a budget of €2,120,000 excluding VAT, with the goal of giving the city a covered facility dedicated to action sports. From the preliminary stages, the design involved a group of young Manceaux representing the local urban riding community, so that the facility would match what riders actually need.
The skatepark opened on April 28, 2007. Since then, it has established itself as one of France's largest indoor skateparks, open to the public and run by the city, helping make Le Mans a city known for skateboarding, roller skating, BMX and freestyle scootering.
