More about Wake Paradise
Wake Paradise is the first cable water-ski lift in the Sarthe, set on a lake north of Spay, about ten minutes from central Le Mans. The 600-meter closed-circuit cable lets eight water-skiers ride at the same time at an average speed of 30 km/h. Three activities are offered: kneeboarding (ideal for a first try), water skiing (single or double ski) and wakeboarding, the site's signature activity. A certified instructor gives a safety briefing before each launch, making it accessible to beginners and experienced riders alike.
Around the cable, Wake Paradise has the feel of a “little paradise on the edge of Le Mans”: a landscaped beach with lounge chairs, a sun deck, free-access pétanque and molky courts, and a restaurant with a terrace for extending the break after a session. It is a popular outing for families, friends or groups, combining water sports with relaxation.
A bit of history
Wake Paradise positioned itself as the first cable water-ski lift (câble ski) in the Sarthe, still a fairly rare setup in the region when it opened. The site operates in season, from May to October, with reduced-speed sessions offered from May through August for children and beginners.
The sources consulted do not allow the site's creation date or founders to be pinned down precisely: no opening date or detailed history was found on the official website or in accessible local press. The venue has since become a well-known destination for water sports around Le Mans, combining sport, food and outdoor relaxation.
