Advance Screening & Meet-the-Filmmaker: Congo Boy

Les Cinéastes is screening Congo Boy in advance, the first narrative feature by Rafiki Fariala, presented in Un Certain Regard at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. The film follows a 17-year-old Congolese refugee in Bangui who dreams of music and must look after his brothers and sisters alone. The director, who is also a slam poet, will be in the theater to talk with the audience; screening in the original version with subtitles.
