Choreographer Aina Alegre, who directs the Centre chorégraphique national de Grenoble, pays tribute to the forgotten flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya. Seven performers stamp the floor and cut through the air in front of archival footage. The piece strips flamenco of its folklore to turn it into an assertion of self.
