Jean-Benoit Diallo in Libre Arbitre

“In this show, Jean-Benoît Diallo tackles the theme of free will. A very philosophical theme for 1 hour of stand-up made up of 80% of the word dick.” That unapologetic tagline sets the tone: behind a reflection on how society, social media, and the press influence our choices, Jean-Benoît Diallo delivers biting, caustic, sometimes even scorching humor that spares neither the audience nor himself.
At 33, Jean-Benoît Diallo first trained and worked as a physical therapist before turning to theater. After two years of training at the Cours Florent, he decided in 2016 to devote himself fully to comedy and performed on various Paris stages. He played his first show, À la dérive, at the Comédie des 3 Bornes in 2017, then followed in 2019 with Ad vitam aeternam, presented at the Théâtre BO Saint-Martin, at Le Point Virgule, and at the Festival d'Avignon.
In 2023, he joined the Jamel Comedy Club, a step that accelerated his career to the point where he quit his physical therapy practice for good to devote himself entirely to the stage. His offbeat, sometimes cynical world tackles serious subjects from an original angle, without hesitating to bring in philosophical references in a deliberately crude setting.
With 335 reviews and a 10/10 rating, Libre Arbitre confirms the talent of this former physical therapist turned full-fledged comedian. At the Comédie Le Mans, audiences will discover this hour of stand-up that mixes deep reflection with unapologetic vulgarity, in a style that has already won over a large Paris audience.
