More about Comédie Le Mans

La Comédie Le Mans is a neighborhood theater devoted to humor and laughter, located at 37 rue Nationale, in the heart of downtown Le Mans. With its roughly 150 to 160 red velvet seats and an inside bar, it offers a tight but dense program: one-man shows, performances by established comedians, comedy theater, and improv, every night of the week.

The venue welcomes both fans of stand-up and families, with children's shows on Wednesdays and weekends, and it also caters to people who want to discover new talent. Well-known comedians such as Smaïn, Élisabeth Buffet, and Manu Payet have performed here, alongside local artists and theater workshops open to everyone.

A neighborhood venue designed for conviviality, La Comédie Le Mans also rents its space for corporate events and offers free tickets, making it a must-visit for anyone in Sarthe looking for a night of laughs.

A bit of history

La Comédie Le Mans opened its doors on June 18, 2022, at the initiative of Tewkif Behar, with “Couple, mode d'emploi” as its opening show. Designed from the start as a venue entirely devoted to humor and comedy, it filled a gap in the downtown Le Mans cultural scene, at a time when several large French cities were seeing venues dedicated to laughter open, modeled on Parisian comedy clubs.

Since opening, the venue at 37 rue Nationale has become a go-to address for comedy in Sarthe, booking both national headliners passing through Le Mans and emerging artists, while maintaining a daily schedule that is rare for a venue of its size.
