Le démon de midi

A nice couple in their forties, a little boy, a lovely apartment, a country house: everything was fine, until the arrival of the “sale bête,” the midlife demon. The heroine discovers her husband’s affair with his secretary and, with disarming frankness and humor that is both sharp and tender, recounts the entire emotional journey that followed.

Alone on stage, the actress plays in turn the ex-husband, the son, the mistress, the friends, the mother-in-law, and even the salesman at Bricorama, in a one-woman show that multiplies viewpoints on a single relationship crisis, moving between laughter and tenderness. The show lightly handles a universal subject (the midlife crisis and infidelity) without self-pity or settling scores.

The show is performed by Séverine Robic, a French actress discovered online thanks to viral offbeat videos, including a widely shared Michael Jackson parody. She has since performed in several plays, including “Toc Toc” by Laurent Baffie, “Venise sous la neige” by Gilles Dyrek, and “Le Démon de midi” by Michèle Bernier, as well as Molière’s “Le Bourgeois gentilhomme.” She also appeared on the TV show “On n’demande qu’à en rire.”
