At nightfall, the Abbaye Royale de l'Épau dresses in light for the “Voyage lumineux et sonore,” a fairy-tale trail that turns the 13th-century Cistercian monastery into a glittering set. Between captivating illuminations and an immersive soundscape, this event pairs the site's architectural heritage with contemporary creation, for a nighttime stroll designed for the whole family. The trail runs from November 27, 2026 to January 3, 2027, with free, open access after dark throughout the holiday season. Over the years, it has become a must-see winter event in Sarthe, where heritage meets contemporary stage design.
