Yazid Assoumani

“Why haven't you seen this show yet? Because Yazid isn't famous yet? All the more reason to say you were there from the start.” With authenticity and self-deprecating humor, Yazid Assoumani tackles everyday life and its absurd moments: insecurities, relationships, first steps at school. Behind his neat teacher's look, he pulls the audience into his offbeat world through hilarious anecdotes, pulling no punches.

Yazid Assoumani's story begins in Marseille, a city where all cultures mix. Of Comorian origin, he is the eldest of his siblings and grew up in the Dervallières neighborhood, then in Malakoff, before moving with his family to the Merisiers neighborhood of Trappes at age 13. His schooling then led him to the University of Nanterre, where he began studying psychology.

In 2017, he entered the Arti'Show competition in the comedy category and won, a turning point that gave him the confidence to seriously consider a stand-up career. After graduating, he became an elementary school teacher and for several years led a double life: during the week he taught children and handled relations with parents; in the evenings and on weekends, he played Paris open-mic stages.

Since 2017, he has made his mark on the capital's stages thanks to a natural musicality, an inimitable delivery, and spontaneous humor rooted in real life. With 69 reviews and a 10/10 rating, his show has already won over audiences with its freshness. At the Comédie Le Mans, Yazid Assoumani will perform 1 hr 15 min of sincere stand-up, in which the former teacher turned comedian recounts, with tenderness and bite, the small absurdities of life.
